What is the difference between the US and Mexico?
A US tourism industry has been slammed for its perceived lack of commitment to the tourism sector in the Republic of the Philippines.
The Tourism Industry Association of the United States (TIAU) released a report on Thursday that said the tourism industry in the Philippines is experiencing a “severe decline” due to the Duterte administration’s tough stance on illegal immigration.
The TIAU, which represents nearly 4,000 companies, including hotels, airlines and cruise lines, has accused the Duterte government of “trying to shut down the industry”.
“As a result, tourism is losing the momentum that it enjoyed for the last five years.
TIAA President and CEO, Dan McGinnis said in a statement.”
We must continue to promote the value of tourism and attract more visitors to the Philippines, to ensure that Filipinos can enjoy this great destination.””
But in a country where a large portion of Filipinos have been caught up in the migration crisis, it is time to re-engage in our economy.”
We must continue to promote the value of tourism and attract more visitors to the Philippines, to ensure that Filipinos can enjoy this great destination.
“The Philippine government has taken a tough stance towards illegal immigration and has imposed a moratorium on new arrivals in recent months, which has seen millions of Filipinas move away from the Philippines to other countries.
The move has led to the death of more than 300,000 people.
Many of the country’s most famous attractions have seen a decline in visits as the number of visitors has decreased, including Disneyland, Disney World and other Disney theme parks.
The government has also tightened border controls to control illegal migration.”
I think we can agree that there is a need for more engagement with the tourism and economy sectors,” McGillis said.”
But the government has not done anything for us.
“The Tourism Department (TD) has announced that there will be a new round of the tourism-related promotion program at the National Tourism Board (NTB) this year.TD Chairman Luis Bautista said the promotion will focus on tourism and tourism-linked businesses.
The new programme will be announced on Monday.
