What the tourism industry needs to know about tourism in the US
More than half of all visitors to the US are tourists, according to a new study.
The U.S. Census Bureau’s Bureau of Tourism & Convention Bureau says that while tourism is the biggest industry in the country, there are more than 500 other sectors that contribute to the economy.
Those industries include hotels, restaurants, retail and entertainment.
In order to have the most economic impact, it makes sense to invest in the industries most in demand, the bureau said.
The bureau found that the top five industries in the United States include tourism, retail, hotels, leisure and recreation.
The bureau’s study also looked at the industries with the largest number of annual visitors to help determine which sectors would receive the most investment.
The study found that in 2020, there were nearly 16.3 million people visiting the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Those numbers grew by nearly 4.6 million between 2016 and 2020.
The tourism industry in 2018 was the largest industry, generating nearly 7.5 million jobs, according the study.
In 2019, tourism spending totaled $18.4 billion, up 5.6 percent from the previous year, according data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
The top five tourism sectors in 2020 were hotels, food services, leisure, retail trade and leisure and hospitality.
The number of people visiting each sector in 2020 rose to $16.4 trillion, or nearly $1,400 per capita, according research from the Census Bureau.
The report found that hotels and leisure accounted for about 40 percent of all tourists in 2020.
The next highest-paying sectors for tourism spending were hotels and restaurants, with about $6 billion, or about $1.25 per person, in 2020 dollars.
Restaurants, which are popular with college students, made up about 16 percent of spending, the report said.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics said that the hospitality industry was responsible for more than $4 billion in spending in 2020 on food services and more than 1 million jobs.
The tourism industry employs about 9.3 percent of the workforce, according a Bureau of Industry and Security report released earlier this year.
That’s a big change from about 7 percent in 2000, when the industry was just a few hundred people.
The jobs in the industry are mostly in retail trade, travel services and restaurants.
