Philadelphians Want to Be Seen on Tourist Rental Websites
Philadelpians are in search of more than just a place to relax and relax on a beach.
They want to experience it firsthand and to share their excitement for the region.
A recent survey from Visit Philadelpa found that more than one in five of the country’s adult residents is interested in visiting the state and is willing to pay for a tour.
Some people are willing to fork over upwards of $300 for a vacation.
“We are really excited to be in this market and to see the people and places we see every day,” said Michael Dusko, senior marketing manager for Visit Philalia.
“This is really an opportunity to see what it’s like to be a part of the tourism community here.”
The popularity of tours like this is especially noteworthy in light of a recent national survey that found the state’s tourism industry was losing money.
The National Tourism Infrastructure Coalition, a trade group for the industry, estimates the annual economic impact of tourism to be $1.6 billion.
While the number of visitors is up, the industry is struggling to keep up.
Travelers are also spending less on lodging and food.
According to Visit Philama, in 2016, the average cost of a one-night stay was $350, compared to $550 in 2016.
The association has put out a call for people to pitch in to help the industry by booking their next vacation in the future.
“I can’t tell you how much I love this industry,” said Kristin Smith, a 29-year-old New York City native who owns the restaurant and bar bar The Big Spot.
“I am a professional bartender.
I have a degree in hospitality.
I’ve been working in the industry for over 20 years.
I’m just so proud of the way this industry is doing.
It’s really exciting to see this boom coming.
I can’t wait to see it.”
“When you go on tour you are not just seeing the sights and the sounds,” added Mark Rader, a 37-year veteran of the tour industry.
“You’re really seeing people from all walks of life.
I just love being a part a community and seeing the diversity of the community and the culture.”
For many locals, it’s a chance to experience the region and the people.
Many people have said that having a tour group is the best way to get to know other locals.
Some are planning to make the trip themselves.
For many people, the value of a vacation is that it gives them the chance to meet people and have some time to meet new people.
For some, it could be the first time in a long time that they have been able to truly enjoy themselves.
“I don’t have any other plans right now, but I definitely want to be out here,” said Kaleb Prentiss, a 28-year resident of Philadelphia.
“When you’re out in the city you can go to a restaurant, go out and enjoy it and then you can walk around and see everything around you.
It makes you appreciate the world a lot.”
